Windfall

I don't know about you, but I love it when people offer me millions of dollars for no apparent reason at all.

This is the latest little offering that arrived in my "inbox" today. I especially love the incorrect grammar and the details about what I have to do to retrieve "my" money

UNITED STATES POSTAL INSPECTION SERVICE,
PO BOX 555, NEW YORK NY 10116-0555

This is to notify you that we have intercepted your parcel from DHL COURIER
SERVICE is making the delivery and we have stopped the delivery process for
some security reasons stated below:

1. Our scanning system has detected that your parcel contains a confirmable
ATM CARD to the tune of $6,500,000.00 USD.

2. Such ATM CARD coming from African /Europe/Asia is been verified by the
POSTAL INSPECTION SERVICE which we have directed our inspection team to
proceed with the verification to ascertain the authenticity of the ATM CARD
and now after all the verification on the Parcel/ATM CARD, having contacted
the issuing institution who made it known to our office that the ATM CARD is
a Genuine one and Not ILLEGALLY ACQUIRED. We have also forwarded the Serial
Number of the ATM CARD to the U.S, Treasury Department and they confirmed
that the CARD is Authentic and ready to be cashed at any ATM MACHINES.

Also for the Delivery of the Parcel to continue, you are in obligation to
obtain from Spain, a Duly Sworn Affidavit from Spanish High Court which will
back up the Origin of Fund. This is in line with the Anti-Terrorist Campaign
which the USA Government has embarked on recently to protect our Territory
from future attacks.
You should therefore contact the sender of the ATM CARD or the DHL Courier
Agent in Madrid,Spain to get the Sworn Affidavit for you while we wait to
receive from you the Affidavit File Number to enable us forward your ATM
CARD to your address.

Below is his contact information. Note that the cost of the Affidavit is
$188 and do not hesitate to remit the amount to him.

Name: Arthur Pattison
Email address:pattison.arthur-------

We shall then forward the ATM CARD to you and you will be sure of a genuine
ATM CARD that is coming to you. We are doing this for your interest
considering the rate which fraudulent and stolen checks/ATM CARD are been
sent to our innocent citizen that most times put them in problem.

Your urgent action on this notice will be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Guy C.
Chief Postal Inspector

Overkill

I headed out yesterday to do my weekly shop of fruit and vegetables and thought I'd pick up a few plums so I could make another Plum cake for MONT to take to Bonnie Doon this weekend...and maybe another, just in case someone drops into Number 10

Unfortunately though, I couldn't find any plums on the usual tables, but was told if I wanted some, they had them up the back

In a box...

Now....what can I do with 7kgs of plums, aside from making jam and chutney?

Any ideas?

New Beginnings

I thought I'd try a new colour scheme for the blog...what do you think?

A bit bland....or fresh?

I thought it was time for a bit of a change, you know, being December 29 and all.

I might leave it this way for a few days to see if it grows on me.

Tuesday Funny

I thought you might enjoy this...

I just heard about this blog and thought I'd share it with you.

It's just as it's described. It's a man, talking in his sleep and it's hilarious.

There is quite a bit of swearing though, so if you're not into it, don't listen, or if there are little ones around, might be a good idea to turn the speakers down.

Perspective

I really like Christmas time... or to be more precise, I really love what this time of year promises.

I know it's busy and crowded and hectic and the roads are crazy, but I still get a kick out of this time of year

But each year at this time, I also have to ask why some people seem to think it's OK to be rude, impatient and generally bad tempered?

Why do levels of anger boil over in December? Why do so many get so short tempered?
Everyone's trying to get things done, everyone's got somewhere to be. But in a lot of cases, they lose perspective and forget that this is supposed to be a happy time of year...you know, goodwill, peace on earth. That sort of thing.

Just the other day I was leaving a multi-level carpark and had a bit of a run-in with a motorist who wanted to move into my car space ahead of the person who'd got there first. When I pointed this out, he got a little heated with me...saying he didn't care! Well, I bet he'd care if he'd been there first.

Anyway, all I can say is "chill people". Time to put things in perspective.
Just remember, if the worst thing that happens to you this week is that you're second in line to a parking spot, then you're not doing too bad in my books.

Oh Dear......

Sorry...more silliness. I can't help myself.

I now present more entrants for the coveted "The Worst Album Covers of all Time" award.

This is Freddy Morgan, who used to be with the Spike Jones Band.

Happy fella isn't he?

...and then there's The Faith Tones...

Enough said.

Wednesday Giggle

Don't be scared. This is not me!
I was surfing the other day...electronically, and I came across some rather funny images. Well at least they tickled my fancy

They were headed "The Worst Album Covers of all Time"

I don't think they were exaggerating.

The very hirsute Saveta... what was she thinking?

Gorgeous hairstyles galore! How many cans of VO5 were used to get these styles to stay in shape?

...and of course the Christian Crusaders, who I am sure are... no, nothing more needs to be said. The picture speaks for itself.

Can't say I don't have an eclectic mix of things here.
