Housework

I recently had my first encounter with a person who cleans houses.

My house to be precise.

Since I started working again...yes I now work each day - from home - I felt like I didn't want to spend all my spare time cleaning the house or thinking about cleaning it.

I'm only going to have this amazing person come in once a month...in between visits I'll do the basic stuff like vacuuming and washing floors etc...but I just wanted someone who'd look after all the "nooks and crannies" around the place

Her first visit was terrific...she and her husband arrived, I showed them what I thought needed attention and then, I left

When I got home that afternoon the house was SPARKLING!!! ... and it smelled good too

Which brings me to these little beauties.

While I hate housework, I do like nice smelling products to use on the odd occasion that I do get stuck into it

I was checking out Ness's blog, Marley and Lockyer a while back and she was mentioning these gorgeous Murchison Hume cleaning products.

Lo and behold...there they were featured on the Temple and Webster updates I get each day/week.

So I ordered some and they were delivered this morning

Have you checked out Temple and Webster yet?

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Lot's of gorgeous things on sale...everything from cushions and floor rugs to throws and homewares.

Worth a look.

  1. I love M&H products, but the price always puts me off, especially when my husband would use them all in one go thinking they were the same as normal spray and wipe!

I also love my cleaner, we employed a new one yesterday and she is delightful, and very thorough - I look forward to every second thursday now!

    1. April I thought M.H were a bit pricey too at first, but the three products I ordered all came with two refill bottles, so the expense wasn't much more than the stuff I'd buy at the supermarket...and they'll be much more "user friendly" ...and as for MONT using them up...not likely...he looks after outside I look after inside so the chance of him spraying and wiping every surface throughout the house is just not going to happen!
You know I never thought I'd ever have a cleaner...but oh boy, am I glad I changed my mind!!!

  2. Good on you Lesley for getting a cleaner. Back when I worked full time, we had a lady who would come fortnightly to clean. Walking in the door after work on that Friday afternoon was heavenly - so wonderful having sparkling clean bathrooms and floors to start the weekend. When Sophie was a colicky newborn baby, we also had a family friend clean for us every Thursday and when that few months ended and I had to fit in cleaning the house myself around the 101 other motherly duties, I sure did miss it :)

I've recently started using M&H products myself, slowly replacing my other products over time. I love the bathroom cleaner!

I hadn't heard of Temple & Webster but have just popped over and signed up... it looks great.

    Enjoy your weekend Lesley xx

    1. Oh Amanda, I'm in love with my cleaner...and she's only visited us once.! lol

...and I love the smell of the M&H products too. In fact I was checking out the M&H website and noticed they also have white grapefruit products as well as the coriander and fig...I love the smell of grapefruit! so I'm thinking that will be my next buy from them

  3. I am terrible at housework! I blame it on my short-sightedness :) Theyre's always dust and cobwebs left over as I just cannot see them :)
I have only tried the M&H handwash and handcream and really like it. I will try other products as my budget allows. I have bought from Temple and Webster. I bought a book and it arrived very damaged. They were so great about it. Refunded the money and I kept the book.
