If so it may be a good idea to have a look at this from the Yvestown Blog
It certainly is food for thought, especially if some of your images are being pinned and then re-pinned time and time again with no attribution to their original source

It got me thinking about Social Media in general and how so many people use it to get connected but not necessarily "in touch".
I must admit I was a little amused when I started getting notifications that someone was "following" me on Pinterest, especially seeing I haven't actually pinned any images to it, although I have seen some of the images from my blog have been pinned and then re-pinned.
I think Pinterest could become quite addictive. But my question is, where do you find the time?

I love pininterest. A couple of days ago I registered with pininterest but I haven't heard anything. Did it take long for them to get back to you?
ReplyDeleteIt can take a couple of days. I think mine was three or four, can't remember exactly. Just be careful though
DeleteHmm, I'm on interest but haven't used it because it won't behave on my old computer. I haven't read that story (yet) but I did read another one the other day. Real food for thought I think. I'm not sure how ethical it all is?
ReplyDeletePs trying to post the link for you :)

ReplyDeleteHere's an interesting link...
Oh my first comment didn't post! I said I'm on pinterest but don't use it due to my dodgy computer. The copyright issue us a big one and it really concerns me. I'm not sure how pinterest gets away with it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, I'll check out the link. It's always good to go into these things with all the info you can get
DeleteI've only recently joined Pinterest myself, purely because I was saving lterally 1000's of images in 'inspiration folders' here on my computer to remember things or to use as inspiration and figured I might as well save them online instead. I posted on a similar topic about Pinterest a few posts back as something I read about copyright got me thinking too. I do think it's a good resource for ideas and inspiration so I hope its creators can clear up all our concerns regarding legal issues. At the moment, I try to only pin from the original source and to credit its photographer as much as I can. As for time to 'pin', I don't so much browse through Pinterest but I tend to 'pin' as I'm reading blogs or searching for things online and want to remember an idea or 'bookmark' something I'd like to buy. You'll probably find the person who started following your boards did so because they've read your blog and like youe style and so think they'd be interested in your 'pins'. Anyway, happy pinning, there really are some great ideas out there!! :)
ReplyDeleteI tried to explain Pinterest to MOTH a couple of weeks ago & failed miserably. It sure is addictive, I'm having to put the iPhone stopwatch on my 'sessions'! I love all the social media stuff, I hope that I'm still Tweeting/FBing/Blogging/Pinning from my room in the Nursing Home!
