They said it wouldn't last...no really, they did

MONT and I celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday

It was our 8th and while we didn't go out for dinner or exchange gifts, I made a special dinner for us and we did crack open a bottle of champagne that we'd been keeping for the occasion...

That "thing" in the glass is a Wild Hibiscus flower that MONT brought home for me to try. It was OK, but I only had it in a small taste of the Veuve Clicquot...I don't get to drink Veuve very often and I didn't want to spoil my favourite drop.

  1. Happy anniversary! I've only had veuve once and loved it. I have a bottle that was given to me for my 40th (belatedly) and now I have no idea when to crack it :)
    Have a lovely day x

  2. Thanks Sarah. The time to drink Veuve is whenever you want to. You just have to pick a day and decide it's special...maybe one Saturday night when you're both tucked up in front of the fire.

    1. So true, though I think I'd be drinking it while Lyn drank beer. Oh well, more for me!

  3. Happy, happy anniversary.
That bottle brings back such memories...Once upon a time in the far distant past my husband was with a company that gave its senior execs a case of grog each Friday (This was the hospitality industry in the day!!) Early on I must have said the only thing I drank was champagne because that was what we got each week a case of Veuve Clicquot! We were not great drinkers at the time and it built up into a large stock (I did wonder for a while why we got so many invitations to dinner!!) but even that did little to diminish it. It was a great let down many years later when it finally did run out.
A beautiful wine and champagne is still the only thing I drink, alas no longer quite that quality!!!!

    1. Thanks Jules, you know I would've invited you to my place for dinner each and every week!!!!

This is really my favourite champagne and whenever we go overseas this is on the "duty free" shopping list. My usual drinking habits at home though are a LOT less expensive than Veuve.
