Kreativ - Thanks

This was a surprise..

Natalie, over at "In The Night Sky" nominated me...which is really nice!

It was a while ago, so I'm a bit slack getting to it...but anyway...

Thanks Natalie.

This award means I have to tell you some things about me that you may not know and then nominate seven blogs that really tickle my fancy.

Well....

1. I used to learn ballet...many moons ago, but now do Pilates once a week

2. I loved school but wasn't a good student, I just liked the social aspect of it all and still have friends from my school days

3. If I didn't have to work, I'd spend my days sewing, watching movies, renovating old furniture and playing with the dogs...oh and cooking

4. If  I owned a shop, it would look like a mix of second hand furniture, vintage bits and pieces, fabric, vintage patterns and shoes... (crazy I know)

5. If I were starting the renovations on Number 10 now, the interior would be gutted and it would have a completely different lay-out

6. I am often bemused about the need for our strict privacy laws when so many people are so willing to share  every detail about their personal lives and day to day activities on Facebook or Twitter.

7. Call me crazy, but I hate not getting up to go to work each day...and it still "stings" a little about the way I lost my job last year.

That's about it for the revelations today...maybe some more when I can think of things that may resemble something interesting about me.

Now to some of the nice blogs I check out each day...

Well, all you have to do is look down the side bar and see what inspires me each and every day...Scrapbook, Country Style Chic, Centsational Girl, In The Night Sky, McCarthy Designs, Molly's Maison, VT Interiors, Homely One, Fun and VJ's...they're all fabulous and all very different and they all give me something to aspire to each day.

That's it from me...if you are mentioned and want to take the KREATIV image and display it and then carry on with the award, please, be my guest. If not, no problems

Award

OK, this is not something I would usually do and I know I said I wouldn't...but... I'm going to ask you to vote for me...

Why?

Because the prize for the Most Fascinating Blog - Librarian category, is a $200 restaurant voucher and, should I win, I can then pass it on to one of you.

The voucher, from what I understand, is only valid in North America, so I figure instead of sending it to one of my friends in the US, I'll use it as a giveaway here...

What do you think?

There are 93 nominees in all and all you have to do is click on the "Fascinating Blogger" award on the right hand side of this page and it will take you to the section where you can vote.

Just scroll down the page until you find me and then click...voting closes on 6th March.

Let's see how we go huh? It'd be pretty funny if a non-librarian blog won the Librarian category.

Nominated

Not sure who or why really...but I got an email today about being nominated for this award

I'm guessing I'm not alone though

So...whoever nominated me. THANKS, but I think you got the wrong girl.

It's an award for blogs that have a lot to do with teachers and libraries. That 'aint me.

They also sent a little jigger so you could vote for me...that won't be going on here....

Thanks April

I've been very remiss in my blogging duties of late... but it's been a busy time what with the federal election and what have you.

But a little while ago, April, over at City Girl in the Country..... gave me this award and I was really chuffed to receive it.

Thanks April!

Part of the condition of the award is to tell you a few things about me that you don't already know.....so here goes.

1. I love wandering through fabric shops to get inspiration.
2. I never post personal photos of friends or family on the web
3. I save recipes from newspapers.
4. I lived and worked in Brisbane for over a year and I spent 2 years in Sydney
5. I can't be bothered with Facebook or Twitter.
6. I once took singing and dancing lessons.
7. I still sing at the top of my lungs when I'm home, much to MONT's amusement.

I'm also required to name 15 newly discovered blogs to share this award....well, I haven't discovered 15 new ones lately, as I've been busy enjoying the ones I follow, so I might leave that to another day...

Thanks again April...love your blog!

AWOL

I admit it. I've been remiss in my blogging duties. I'm sorry but I do have an excuse.

Apart from work, I've been organising a trip so MONT and I can attend a wedding. In Ireland. In June. Yes I know, it's a long way to go but we said we would so, we are.

The timing isn't perfect for us, seeing we'll only be returning from another trip in early May, but that's just the way it goes I guess. One part of the timing that is perfect though is that I'll be able to catch up with a girlfriend who'll be there at the same time. She lives in Sydney and I haven't seen her since our wedding, six years ago....but she'll be in southern Ireland at exactly the same time as us. Amazing huh?

Anyway, that's what I've been up to.

On another note, I have a big thank you for Amanda at Homely One
Amanda emailed me to tell me she'd given me an award. AN AWARD! The SUNSHINE AWARD!

The rules of the award are:

1.Put the logo on your blog or in a post
2.Pass the award on to 12 fellow bloggers
3.Link to the nominees within your post
4.Let them know they have received it by leaving a comment for them
5.Share the love and link to the person who gave you the award

So I'm following the rules and doing what I'm asked of.

Now to my 12 fellow bloggette's who I'll also pass this award onto.
I have quite a few blogs that I list on the right hand side of my blog, but to be honest, I don't check all of them every single day.

There are a few that I do though, and that's because I really love them. They aren't all about decor or decorating with white.... but the one thing they do all have in common is that they brighten my day. I feel like I know their authors because they make me feel as though they are inviting me into their lives and homes.

Can't get any better than that

So, here are some of the blogs that make me feel like I'm home:
2. Mimi at Mimi Charmante
3. Rose at Able Mae
5. Karen at Cavania
6. Brismod at Fun and VJ's
7. Tina at Rubies Place
8. White Dove at White Dove
9. Kitchen Hand at What I Cooked Last Night
10. Millie at The Laurel Hedge
11. Stacey at Stacey Snacks
12. Michelle at Michelle Made This

I hope you all enjoy your awards...and I have to say Thank You to everyone who makes me feel welcome into their lives and blogs.

Thank You Amanda

It's really lovely when you fire up the computer and see someone likes your daily mutterings so much they give you an award.
So, thanks Amanda, I really appreciate it
But to have this award I have to list 10 things that make me happy and 10 bloggers who brighten my day.
This should be easy.

Things that make me happy

1. My husband and family. I really am a lucky person to have such a wonderful bloke who makes me happy every darn day....and my extended family. You know who you are. Thank you.

2. My friend "G" who I love to bits. We've known each other since the late "70's and knew the instant we met that we were kindred spirits.

3. My pets who are funny and smart (well maybe not really smart) and bring joy to me every day.

4. Renovating old furniture and houses makes me really happy. I love the transformation. I love being able to turn something old and rickety into a piece that is functional and beautiful.

5. Travel. Overseas, here at home. Anywhere.

6. Cooking and feeding people. How good does it feel when you make a dish and someone comes back for seconds?

7. Sewing and creating.

8. Working and earning my own money. I love being independent and not having to rely on someone else to "fund" my little shopping expeditions. Add to that my shopping expeditions with "G" We shop well together.

9. Blogging. I've met some terrific people who have visited Number 10 and left comments and insights and I love wandering over to their places too and reading what they've been up to.

10. My life. I really am a very lucky person to be able to have the freedoms and privileges I have. I thank my lucky stars each and every day

Now, to my other list of 10 bloggers who brighten my day:

1. White Dove. A lady who writes beautifully about her life and family

2. AM at the House that AM Built. An Inspiration who has chronicled the trials and tribulations of building her gorgeous new home

3. Brabourne Farm. Leigh has some of the most beautiful images on her gorgeous blog.

4. Ada and Darcy where Kellie has a real way with decor and fashion. I love checking out what she's been up to each day

5. Cavania. Karen does some beautiful work. Well worth a look

6. The Laurel Hedge. Millie is funny, clever and a delight...

7. At the Farm where Gail tells us about her animals and farm life in the USA

8. Journaling Woman. Teresa is a real delight and a lovely person.

9. Kitchen Hand from What I Cooked Last night. I've been reading his blog for ages now. Recipes and insight. He always give you something to think about

10. Amanda at Homely One. Amanda, I'm yet to try your fudge, but plan to over the next week or so. When all this Chrissy madness calms down. Then, like you, I will sit down with a nice cuppa, a good magazine, take a deep breath and devour a piece of your fudge. Yummy

There are so many more: Undomestic/mumma, Stacey Snacks, Pottering About, French Essence and Chek, to name a few.
Thank you everyone.
and thank you Amanda
