Melbourne is on "storm alert"
It usually gets pretty windy and stormy this time of year as we start heading into Spring, but OH MY GOODNESS ! ! It's blowing a gale out there !
I know the SES volunters are going to be kept busy tonight, because it's only going to get worse.
It's going to be interesting driving to work in the morning. I wonder how many trees will be down?
My daughter who is a Melbournite warned me about the severe storms on the way, so I was intrigued when I read your post. Hope you came through it without any damage to your lovely home. ( She was so concerned that the new blossoms on her white nectarine would be blown away, such a shame as the tree had been replanted after an extensive reno, but no, checking the next morning they were all still in place) You may be interested to read her blog which details the ups & downs she and her husband experienced in renovating their 100 yr old home in inner Melbourne. ReplyDeleteIt's a great read ! Have enjoyed your posts also. Good work
Thanks White Dove, I'll check out their blog....always good to read about other reno projects...love it.
ReplyDeleteNot a lot of damage...just a large chunk of wood was torn away from one of the posts of the carport. It had been supporting a neighbours lemon tree, but couldn't handle the strength of the wind. Our magnolia's have suffered in the wind, so did our fruit trees, but that's the way it goes...
thanks for stopping by...
