Action weekend

It's amazing sometimes just how much can be achieved in a single day!

MONT and a buddy got the roof to the new studio started.

They started work around 8.30 on Saturday morning....

...and by lunchtime it was looking like, well a roof.

By around 3pm the corrugated sheets had been put on the roof

...and the front boards had been put back (we saved and re-used as many of the weatherboards and timber we could)

Then yesterday, MONT filled in all the holes and joins with "no more gaps"...and painted it.

All done!...well, almost

Now, the roofing plumber just has to arrive this week to finish off and attach the spout and gutter.

Exciting times!

    1. We're very happy campers Sarah!!! MONT was a little surprised that they got SO much done in just one day and is really happy with the way it's turned out. Now we're talking about plaster, cornice and possibly including a timber wall inside. We're trying to use up a lot of stuff that we have lying around the sheds so the end result will depend on what we have. I know we've got some baltic pine boards in the shed but I'm not sure how many there are

    1. I'll say!!! I can't believe that all the construction got done in just one day! Can't wait till the Wisteria gets re-connected now so it can start sending out new runners to wind around the front again.

    1. It was fast Jenny...now the real test will be how long it takes to get from this, to an actual room that I can work in. Time will tell.

  5. Well of course I'm sobbing after seeing this post Lesley. Other than a bit of work on our Home Office job, MOTH's been on strike since the beginning of Winter. Excuses such as Bad Back, Crook Shoulder, Freezing Weather & Nagging Wife are trotted out often. Thank you for his birthday wishes, you are very sweet.

  7. All of this in the span of one day? Wow, that's really fast! It's a good thing it didn't rain so the roof was finished quickly. The front boards look quiet neat.
